FAQ

Q: How should I care for the natural beauty of Totem Quartz surfaces?

A: You do not need to worry at all about oil, cosmetics, or dirt stains on Totem Quartz surfaces, because the stains are easily removed with hot water and soap. Then, you will use a cloth to wipe the spot dry.

Q: How do I remove dried stains and sticky materials?

A: The pore- and crack free nature of Totem Quartz has caused a maximum resistance to stains and sticky materials in addition to preventing bacterial growth on the surfaces.

To remove dried stains, all you need to do is use a wet cloth with hot water and soap. Of course, you may use common detergents, such as soft rubbing gels with bleach. But you have to make sure these substances are not abrasive to keep the surface shine.

As for sticky materials, such as food, paint, chewing gum, you should first try to remove as much bulk of the stain as possible using a plastic knife and then remove any trace with a wet cloth.

Q: How durable are Totem Quartz surfaces?

A: Totem Quartz surfaces are resistant to stains, cracks and scratches, and are made up of 7% resin with 93% quartz, that is, nearly approaching the hardness of diamond. This clearly shows the resistance of the surfaces to external forces.

Needless to say, Totem Quartz surfaces will be damaged if exposed to high pressure with sharp objects just like other hard materials.

Q: Do Totem Quartz surfaces need a coating layer to stop external materials from getting into them?

A: Totem Quartz surfaces do not have any pores or cracks on them, so there is no need for coatings at all.

Q: Can I use a Totem Quartz surface as a cutting board?

A: These surfaces are very hard, but using cutting tools on them for long periods reduces their brilliance and clarity.

Q: How resistant is Totem Quartz to heat?

A: Compared to other stones, such as granite, Totem Quartz is more heat-resistant. However, stones are generally damaged if exposed to abrupt changes in temperature. So, you may want to use some inexpensive pads under your hot dishes.

Q: What kind of cleaners should I never use on Totem Quartz surfaces?

A: Refrain from putting high pH or high alcohol detergents, such as soot cleaners, floor cleaners, sink cleaners, oily soaps, surface dullness removers or materials used in sewage draining on Totem Quartz surfaces. For more information in this regard, please use the link How to Maintain in the Products Menu.

Q: Can I place an order for colors, sizes or special uses not included in the Technical Specifications section?

A: As for requests for a color or pattern not existing among the products, the order will be accepted after examining at the laboratory and an approval for the feasibility of the dimensions.

The factory uses CNC machines to cut the slabs in really varied dimensions, so that the products may be cut for use in kitchen counter tops, sinks, bathtubs,… according to the client’s suggested design. You can learn about the wide use of these surfaces at the Gallery.

Needless to say, using standard, regular sizes reduces waste and cost price of the product.

Q: Can Totem Quartz be used in the open?

A: No definite lab information is available on the effect of sunlight on these surfaces. In any case, the main aim of production is for Totem Quartz to be used indoors.

Q: Is Totem Quartz covered by after sale services?

A: Falat Sang Asia Co. offers an eye-caching warranty of ten years based on the requirements in the manual to replace defective items. You can read more about this here.
